Royal Lancashire Lodge’s Ladies Evening brought 77 members, partners and guests together for a warm, well-fed night of friendship.

On Saturday 3 October, 77 members, partners and guests gathered at The Mill House Masonic Hall in Clayton-le-Moors for Royal Lancashire Lodge’s Ladies Evening, hosted by the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Bob Wilson.
Guests began with a reception before sitting down to leek and potato soup, beef featherblade with seasonal vegetables, and apple tart, followed by a cheese board. The food was widely praised. Before dinner, guests were also invited to look around the lodge room, where members meet. It was a chance for partners to see for themselves the place they hear so much about.
During the evening, Jackie Wilson, wife of the Worshipful Master, gave a speech that was greatly enjoyed, and then drew the winners of the raffle. Names were picked at random from an envelope, and the raffle raised just under £400 for the East Lancashire Festival, which is raising funds for charitable causes. Our thanks go to the members who donated the prizes, and to everyone who took part.
The evening finished with a DJ and a busy dance floor, and the cheese board was not left untouched either.
Thanks and congratulations go to Worshipful Brother Wilson for such a fine evening, and our thanks to Jackie for her part in it. Friendship is one of Freemasonry’s four values, and it was on full show.
