The Immediate Past Master of Royal Lancashire Lodge, Worshipful Brother Duncan Walsh, filled the Festive Boardroom at Colne Masonic Hall to capacity to join him in celebrating his 90th birthday. Family and friends, together with Brethren and wives, gathered to enjoy a most convivial evening and to honour a most remarkable character and an excellent Mason.
Duncan is well known for never doing anything by halves, a personal trait which has taken him to live all over the world and contributed to his success in his commercial life, so it came as no surprise that the catering which he had organised was absolutely first-class and his generosity extended to canapés and wine, in addition to a wonderful banquet.
Despite recently having to undergo a shoulder operation, Duncan hosted the event with the energy of a much younger person. He will undoubtedly soon be fully fit again and in any event, be a part of the driving force taking his Lodge forward for a long time to come. Many Happy Returns.
